Situated just yards away from the picturesque
harbour of Portknockie, 'Tigh na Cala', (Galic for Harbour
House) was built in 1900 and located in the old part of
Portknockie on the Moray Firth coast. The 4-bedroom property was
completely renovated and refurbished during 2003/2004 to a high
standard and can comfortably accommodate 7 people. On a clear
day there are views towards the Caithness coast, and during the
summer evenings you can watch the sunsets disappearing over the
sea. You may also catch a glimpse of the dolphins as they pass
by.
Portknockie is an ideal location for a relaxing holiday and
local activities include golfing, coastal walks, many suitable
for cyclists. Malt Whisky, Castle and Heritage Trails are all
easily accessible. Within easy reach are the marine aquarium at
MacDuff, Duff House in Banff, the Buckie Drifter Museum, the
Scottish Tartan museum in Keith and Baxter's of Speyside. Other
activities include pony trekking, mountain biking, fishing, sea
angling and bird watching. Dolphin spotting cruises are
available nearby. The clean sandy beaches and viaduct of Cullen
is a short walk from the house. Portknockie has a Post Office
and Grocers, Newsagent and General Store, Chemist, Chip Shop,
Ladies hairdresser, Hotel and Inn. There is a small harbour with
a slipway at Portknockie as well as a children's paddling pool.
Local pubs, restaurants, coffee shops and galleries in nearby
Cullen and Findochty. A comprehensive list of activities and
places to visit along with Ordinance Survey maps are available
within the cottage.

accommodation
Downstairs: Entrance hall,
living room, dining kitchen, utility room, shower room, double
bedroom. Upstairs: King size bedroom, twin bedroom, single
bedroom, family bathroom. Outside: Enclosed garden, off road
parking, garage for storing bicycles etc.
The house has full central heating throughout. On the ground
floor, there is a well-equipped dining kitchen, with electric
cooker, dishwasher, fridge, freezer and microwave. It features a
traditional cast iron fireplace, leading to utility room with
washing machine and tumble dryer. Off the utility room is a
downstairs shower room complete with shower cubicle, toilet and
wash hand basin. A comfortable living room with traditional
fireplace with coal and flame effect electric fire. There is a
TV complete with DVD and Video, also separate radio and CD
player.
There is a spacious downstairs bedroom with double bed. Leading
upstairs, there is a large family bathroom with shower over
bath. A bedroom with a single bed. One good-sized twin bedroom
with a sea view, A large double bedroom with king-size bed and
traditional fireplace. Other features include a safe walled
garden suitable for young children and dogs, an off road parking
space and the use of the garage for storing bicycles etc.

Tariff includes

chair and child safety gates. Dogs are welcome by arrangement.
